Nancy Dubina lives in Canton, OH and is a regular listener to the daily radio program, Unlocking the Bible. Last Easter, Nancy was one of three million listeners to tune into the two-hour radio drama (narrated by actor Stephen Baldwin), Heaven, How I Got Here: The Story of the Thief on the Cross. “It was done with excellence…I never thought of the thief on the cross being in heaven, how it all transpired.”
Prior to the drama airing, Nancy encouraged her neighbors to listen. “It was so powerful that I wanted my neighbor to know.” Here’s what happened, according to Nancy:
Following Holy Week, Nancy faithfully inquired of her neighbors to see what they thought of the on-air performance, and they were deeply moved. “Wow, I really enjoyed that program…my son, Steve, was really impacted by it,” one neighbor explained.
Eventually Nancy followed up with Steve, who said the story changed his life. He had given his life to Christ “after the radio drama.” Nancy shared the gospel with him again, and Steve affirmed that, as a sinner, he needed Jesus to save him. Nancy’s reply? “Welcome to the family, brother!”
Nancy says of Unlocking the Bible, “Thank you for your willingness to produce such an excellent radio drama.”
